Profesor Ervin Karamuço ka përfunduar në Vitin 2000 studimet e larta për Drejtësi në Universitetin e Tiranës dhe më pas ka ndjekur studimet pasuniversitare Master dhe Doktoraturë pranë Institutin të Studimeve Evropiane, ku ka mbrojtur temat shkencore në fushat e krimit të organizuar dhe të drejtave të njeriut, në kuadër të çështjeve të integrimit evropian. Në vitin 2016 ka fituar titullin Profesor i Asociuar. Z. Ervin Karamuço ka një eksperiencë të gjatë si funksionar i lartë shtetëror pranë Avokatit të Popullit, duke mbajtur funksione si Zv. Komisioner, Drejtor Kabineti dhe Drejtues i Mekanizmit Kombëtar të Parandalimit të Torturës. Për rezultatet e larta në punën e tij, të vlerësuara edhe nga organizatat ndërkombëtare, në zbulimin, hetimin dhe parandalimin e rasteve të torturës në burgje dhe polici, si dhe per kontributin nderkombetar ne luften kunder trafikimit te paligjshem te emigranteve dhe familjeve te tyre, është dekoruar nga Presidenti i Republikës me titullin “Për Merita të Veçanta Civile”, si dhe eshte shpallur “Qytetar Nderi” i Shtetit te Zakatekas ne Meksike. Profesor Karamuço është aktivist i shoqërisë civile për çështje kushtetuese dhe të drejtësisë penale. Ai ka qënë i angazhuar si Këshilltar i Presidentit të Republikës për çështjet e krimit të organizuar dhe korrupsionit, si dhe Këshilltar pranë Kontrollit të Lartë të Shtetit për çështje të korrupsionit dhe performancës së administratës publike. Gjithashtu ka ushtruar detyrën e Drejtuesit të Njësisë Kombëtare kundër Korrupsionit në Shqipëri, të ngritur nga Transparency International me seli në Berlin Gjermani. Ai gëzon gjithashtu një eksperiencë të gjatë të aktivitetit mësimdhënës në universitete brenda dhe jashtë vendit ne fushen e politikave penale, kriminologjise, penologjise, kriminalistikes dhe profilizimit kriminal. Ai është autor i shumë punimeve shkencore në fushën publike dhe penale, udhëheqës shkencor i diplomave master dhe doktoratur brenda dhe jashte vendit, si dhe ka qënë drejtues institucional programesh Erasmus dhe aktualisht anëtar i dy rrjeteve shkencore evropiane financuar nga Komisioni Evropian për çështjet penale. Ai ka kryer nje sere speciliazimesh te tjera ne SHBA dhe disa vende Evropiane per ceshtje te sigurise publike dhe drejtesise penale. Që prej vitit 2015, ai ushtron detyrën e pedagogut me kohë të plotë, fillimisht pranë Universitetit “A. Moisiu” Durrës dhe aktualisht pranë Departamentit Penal të Fakultetit të Drejtësisë në Universitetin e Tiranës.

Professor Ervin Karamuço completed his universities studies in Law at the University of Tirana in 2000 and then pursued postgraduate studies for Master and PhD at the Institute of European Studies, where he defended scientific topics in the fields of organized crime and human rights, in the context of European integration issues. In 2016 he earned the title of Associate Professor. Mr. Ervin Karamuço has a long experience as a senior state official at the People’s Advocate, holding functions as Deputy Commissioner, Cabinet Director and Head of the National Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture. Due to his high results in his work, praised even by international organizations, in detecting, investigating and preventing cases of torture in prisons and the police, he was decorated by the President of the Republic with the title “For Special Civil Merit” and by Zacatecas State of Mexico as ” Distinguished Citizen”. Professor Karamuço is a civil society activist on constitutional and criminal justice issues. He has been engaged as an Adviser to the President of the Republic on issues of organized crime and corruption, as well as Adviser to the Supreme State Audit on issues of corruption and public administration performance. He has also served as Head of the National Anti-Corruption Unit in Albania set up by Transparency International based in Berlin Germany. He also has a long experience of teaching in universities in Albania and abroad, in Criminology, Penology and Criminal Profile. He is the author of many scientific papers in the field of public and criminal law, scientific leader of many master diplomas and Phd Research, and has been the institutional director of Erasmus programs and a member of two European scientific networks on criminal topics, financed by European Commission .He has completed a number of other specializations in the US and several European countries on issues of public safety and criminal justice. Since 2015, he has been a full-time lecturer, initially at the University “A. Moisiu ” Durrës and currently at the Penal Department of the Faculty of Law at the University of Tirana.
