2021 editions

3-10 April 2021, Durrës (Albania) and September-October 2021, Denpasar (Indonesia)

The Committee for the Jean-Pictet Competition (CCJP) is happy to release its plans for the 2021 editions of the Competition. These plans were carefully studied by the CCJP. The purpose is to give teams a chance to live the “Pictet experience”, as 3900 persons have been doing since 1989.

The trying times humankind is currently going through will certainly affect this experience and the CCJP is determined to make the health and safety of participants, volunteers and organizers a top priority. Some aspects of the Competition are currently under study in order to limit the risks of contagion. At the same time, the very essence of the Competition, based on role-plays and direct confrontation of teams with other teams and the jury, does not match the trend seen for other events to organize it online.

As a result, dates of 3 to 10 April 2021 have been retained for an edition open to Anglophone and Francophone teams to be held in Durrës, Albania. In addition, tentative dates in September-October have been retained for another Francophone-Anglophone edition to be held in Denpasar, Indonesia.

2021 Regulations and the online form are available on concourspictet.org. Teams are encouraged to express their interest to participate before 20 September, in order to allow the CCJP to assess the number of teams interested in participating, and adapt the above scenarii. This will depend upon the number of interested teams, their provenance and the evolution of the pandemic and sanitary restrictions. Exceptionally, a system allowing teams to apply in an advanced phase (deadline for application: 8 October) should help teams who need to work on funding aspects. The standard deadline remains 8 November.

Information on the application of volunteers is now available. The deadline for application of volunteers is 1 November 2020.
